GOVERNING BODY: Board of Supervisors

NUMBER OF MEMBERS: 5

The Board of Supervisors has five members, one representing each of the County's five magisterial districts: Brookland, Fairfield, Three Chopt, Tuckahoe and Varina. Supervisors are elected for four-year terms. The Board is the policy-making body of the County.

The Board elects a chairman and vice chairman in January of each year. The chairman presides at Board meetings and serves as the official head of County government. The vice chairman assumes these responsibilities in the absence of the chairman.
