Business for Democracy, a campaign of the American Sustainable Business Network, will hold its monthly working group webinar on March 1st, 3PM ET.
The special guest is Mr. Chris Saxman who will talk about the Virginia’s Republican Party’s use of Ranked Choice Voting.
Chris Saxman is the Executive Director of Virginia FREE a non-partisan, non-profit established in 1988 that informs the business community in order to advance free enterprise and responsible, pro-business government. Chris served in the Virginia House of Delegates from 2002 to 2010. In 2007, U.S. Senator John McCain asked Saxman to co-chair his Virginia campaign for president.
Chris and his organization were a driving force behind the Virginia Republican Party adopting Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) for their choosing of GOP candidates for statewide office in 2021.
Chris will discuss how RCV was selected instead of a state convention and a traditional primary. He will also discuss how the voting system worked, why political parties in other states might want to adopt it, and the benefits for the business community.
